Terms of Use
Last updated: August 18, 2026
These terms cover your use of this website, run by the McMaster Pre-Law Society (MPLS). By browsing this site or registering for an event through it, you're agreeing to the points below. We're a student club, so this is meant to be a straightforward, reasonable set of ground rules rather than dense legal boilerplate.
Who We Are
MPLS is a student-run club at McMaster University. We are not a law firm, and nothing on this site is legal advice, official McMaster University communication, or a guarantee of any outcome (admission, employment, or otherwise).
Using This Site
You agree to use this site for its intended purpose: learning about MPLS, registering for events, and finding resources we've shared. Specifically, you agree not to:
- Submit false information on registration or contact forms
- Attempt to access, scrape, or interfere with parts of the site not meant for public use
- Use the site to harass, spam, or misrepresent yourself as MPLS or one of our execs
Content and Intellectual Property
Text, photos, and graphics on this site belong to MPLS or are used with permission, unless otherwise noted. You're welcome to share links to our pages. Please don't reproduce our content elsewhere (for example, copying our event photos or team bios onto another site) without asking us first.
Event Registration and Attendance
Registering for an event through this site doesn't guarantee a spot if the event fills up or is capped, and MPLS may need to change a date, location, or speaker lineup on short notice. We'll try to notify registered attendees if that happens. By attending an event, you also agree to the photo/video use described in ourPrivacy Policy.
Third-Party Links
This site links to external resources we don't control, including LSAT prep tools (like Wizeprep), sponsor websites, and job postings. We link to these because we think they're useful, not as an endorsement of everything on those sites, and we aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices.
No Legal Advice
Nothing on this site, including our LSAT resources or panel event content, is legal advice or professional guidance about your specific application, career, or legal situation. For real legal help, consult a licensed lawyer or a local legal aid clinic.
No Warranty
We do our best to keep event dates, job postings, and resource links accurate and up to date, but we can't guarantee this site is always error-free or current. Information here is provided "as is," and you should double-check anything important (like an application deadline) directly with the source.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent allowed by law, MPLS and its executives aren't liable for damages or losses arising from your use of this site or attendance at our events, beyond what's required by law. This doesn't limit any liability that legally can't be limited (such as for gross negligence).
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms occasionally as the club or site changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the current terms.
